Why we built this

The Origin

Eidos started with a simple realization.

Once you become a physical therapist, you quickly become the person everyone goes to when something hurts.

Knees, backs, shoulders - all of a sudden, all your friends are injury prone.

Before long, you're explaining the same things again and again - what it might be, what it probably isn't, what to watch for, and what to do next.

After a while, I realized it would be easier to just build something once rather than rewrite the same explanation every week.

So I built Eidos.

What Eidos Is

Eidos is the result of endless hours poured into a passion project, created - and constantly, painstakingly adjusted - by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy. The use of Eidos isn't meant to replace clinicians or provide diagnoses. I used my own experiences to help shape Eidos, and I continue to upgrade and refine it as it grows.

It's a tool designed to help organize thinking around symptoms using the same clinical reasoning that guides real patient care.

As a practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy, I have spent years treating orthopedic conditions across the spectrum of care and building clinics from the ground up.

The goal was simple: take the reasoning process clinicians use every day and turn it into something people can actually interact with.

Something quick and easy, but thoughtfully made, that brings structure to the uncertainty that often surrounds pain and injury.

Clinical Cases Simulations:

One of the sections that Eidos offers is Clinical Cases Simulations, built specifically for Physical Therapy Students. Honestly, this was the section I was the most stoked to build. When I was in PT school, I always felt like there was a missing resource for encouraging clinical thinking outside of the stress of lab practicals.

I wanted to design something students could easily use from their phone - on the couch, in bed, or wherever they are - as a way to shape their thought process and learn to truly think like a clinician.

The goal of Eidos’ Clinical Case Simulation is simple: less memorization, more clinical reasoning.
